When Half of the Bucket is Emptied

Being a KPOP fan is the greatest addiction that I had in my life. My time revolved on getting to know KPOP idols and knowing their profiles, reading news about them, watching their previous and latest shows and following their SNS accounts. I also learned how to sing their song even I don't know a bit of the meaning of the words and the song itself. I have to find the translations in order to understand and appreciate the song. Therefore, I was drawn to the genre of the music. 

For the 4 years that I was a KPOP fan, my addiction went skyrocketing when the chance to see my favorite group came. Naturally, I wasn't the type of a fan to buy all the merchandise of my favorite group. My only album was the Super Junior's 3rd and 4th album (Sorry Sorry and Bonamana). But when the chance came I bought a lot. Actually not a lot but several.

Dream KPOP Fantasy Concert. This event was announced 5 months before. It was actually rumored to have more than 6 groups to perform. It was like Music Bank Asia Tour. I was hysteric to see the list and I really worked hard to earn the tickets for the concert and my plane tickets. After 5 months of enduring hardships and stress I was able to stand on the same ground with my ultimate bias group. 

January 19, 2012, 6:30 PM. I was inside the SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds, listening to the upbeat music and looking at the gigantic stage. Too bad I didn't get the good spot because of the ruckus that was happening on our line. But it was all out of my mind. The important thing is that I will see "my husband" and "my brothers-in-law" XD :). The concert was started by the opening act from an artist of Star Records and the 19 winners of the KPOP Dance contest. The music videos of Tahiti and Infinite was shown. I was hyped when the fireworks display took place at the moment that Infinite's Be Mine was playing. Did I mentioned that INFINITE was my ULTIMATE BIAS GROUP? XD. I sang along with the song and even danced with it. My friends are members of a cover group so it wasn't hard to hide my desire to dance the song in the crowd.

Moment of truth. Infinite came out and I screamed my lungs out. KIM MYUNGSOO!!! The first song was The Chaser. I promised myself to get a lot of pictures and videos but HELLO??? It's Kim Myungsoo and INFINITE in front of my eyes! What should I do? I dance and sing along again. Seeing them dance in person was a GREAT FULFILLMENT. The crisp and synchronized dance was there but the tiredness was evident on their faces. This feeling didn't stop them to make us proud as Inspirits. Next, was Paradise. This sexy dance makes us all awed because of the hip thrusting and turning. 

"Bbiggeut bbiggeut gojang nan nae maeum ira" then BAM! Audio difficulty strikes. It was Myungsoo's part, damn! And I was deeply hurt to see Myungsoo's face got shocked and embarrassed. They just proceeded on the introduction and interviews. It was funny to hear Dongwoo say "Hello Philippines! How are you? Long time no see!" He's forever a cutie! The other members were simply saying his and hellos with a little bit of "make some noise". All I can say is they are all LIFE-SIZED DOLLS. After the short interview they continued the disrupted Paradise song and poured their souls into the song and the dance. They also sang In the Summer which was more on fan service. I was envious with the people who were able to interact with them because they are in VIP PLATINUM AND SVIP SECTION!!! I was like watching the Second Invasion Concert in Seoul and Japan. I was happy to see Sungjong, Sungyeol, Hoya, Dongwoo and Myungsoo ramp on the right side of the stage. 

They all roamed around the entire stage. Myungsoo sending his winks and flying kisses, Sungjong and Sungyeol playing with the camera and throwing hearts (YeolJong was on fire!), Hoya giving free handshakes, Woohyun getting a fans' phones and taking selcas with it, Sunggyu simply waving and smiling, and Dongwoo playing and teasing some fans. Infinite was definitely the best in fan service. Next song was BTD, my adrenaline rushed when I witnessed one of the best dances of Infinite. Seeing the Scorpion Dance in person was DAEBAK! Seeing the serious side of the boys in BTD was making me more shaky that I have to let it out by screaming. One of my favorites was the Be Mine, they were now performing in sync and the way they danced was definitely professional. Everyone is waiting for the "Protractor Dance" but when they were doing the wave the music suddenly stopped. The members were stunned and where looking at each other sending silent messages like "WTH just happened?" Hoya, I think, was the most pissed but he didn't showed it but sarcastically said "Thank you DJ..." (Thank you DJ for ruining my moment!!) Woohyun, Seongyeol and Seongjong keep on saying "I'm shurriii..." (twang for I'm sorry XD it's Engrish) and the fans keep on saying "Gwenchana!" and cheered for them more. Instead of doing Be Mine again they went on singing Nothing's Over. Nothing was definitely over for Infinite, they played with the crowd and giving as much fan service as they can to cover up the FAIL of the technical team. At the end they were thanking the fans but I know deep down inside they were definitely very disappointed. 

After they exited the stage my energy went down from 110% to 20%. Thinking that it is impossible for them to comeback again was heartbreaking. I was preparing for their comeback here in our country but because of the response and the technical glitches, we have the slim chance to see them again. Rumors also flew out one by one after the concert. 

1. Woollim CEO Jongyeop got angry because only the Woollim boys (Infinite and Tasty) were the only ones that experience the great technical difficulty.

2. Philippines was ranked as the 2nd WORST COUNTRY THAT INFINITE VISITED. T______T

3. One fan tried to invade Nam Woohyun's room but failed! (Heck! I thought sasaeng fans are just in Korea! Even here too?)

4. Infinite members were really grumpy when they went home. Infinite's Seongyeol removed his hand off when a fan held his hand in the airport.

5. They didn't greet the fans when they went down the stage after their performance.

But despite all of this, INFINITE was the only group that made my blood rushed through my veins, hyped my adrenaline and made me giddy and jumpy for just 45 minutes. I promised that I will keep calm because I want to take good videos but by instinct I just screamed and screamed. My cameras weren't of much help. My eyes are good enough to picture them and develop it in my memory. 

DKFC is just the start of my journey as an Infinite fan. I'm not a novice Infinite fan by the way. I've been a fan for two years already. Thankfully, I managed to know them as early before their popularity boosted up. Later, if God permits, I will go to Korea and watch them live and up close. XD Now I know what group I'm rooting for forever. Only it's INFINITE even EXO boys didn't give me the enthusiasm that I found in Infinite.

What they look like on and off stage.

Sunggyu - DEFINITELY THE LEADER-TYPE. He's not as playful as the other members during the fan service. He would just simply smile and wave. You can see in Sunggyu the passion he has in singing and performing. He was chubby faced in person! With his pale skin and small eyes, yes his eyes were really small that you can't determine if it's closed or not, he looks like a hamster. Forever our Grandpa Hamster Gyu. According to a friend of mine who was able to talk with Infinite's driver, Sunggyu is very noisy in the car (singing nonstop) and he loves to eat. 

Dongwoo - THE LAUGHING MACHINE. His mouth is really big when he laughs! Dino is tiny. His build was small but he has good biceps! I want to hold those XD! He really love to move around the stage, jumping, running and dancing non stop. His rap is DAEBAK! Dongwoo is very handsome. It's contrary on what you can see on TV. He's also good in fan service. He was also a hyped dino in the backstage. He keeps on talking, laughing and jumping. His positive aura was around the place.

Woohyun - GREASINESS OVERFLOWING. From the presscon to the concert, hearts were flying everywhere. Woohyun is short! Next to Dongwoo (because he's the smallest XD)!!! He is also a passionate performer. Hearing his high notes in the songs that they performed, I can say that he's one of the singer with a great lung capacity. He is also FLIRTY! Typical Nam Woohyun! He was very nice. He keeps on saying Let's Go! Make some noise! But he missed to show us his Bunny Aegyo.

Hoya - ASDFGHJKLAGDGSKAHFSA! Sorry for spazzing! HOYA IS HOT!!! He has an overflowing charisma! Yes! OVERFLOWING. When he is on stage you can't really take your eyes off him. He's very manly and he talks a lot during the interview. He also handled the situation during the technical glitches coolly and professionally. He immediately covered everything with "Say ho ho! Say yah yah! Say yeah yeah!" Hoya's sweaty body was mouthwatering! ^_^ Sorry for the description, you'll feel the same way if you're in my shoes.

Seongyeol - FOREVER CHODING. Very tall guy! He is not as thin on TV. He's very playful on stage but very serious when it comes to performance. He was always on our side playing with the camera and the fans. he even got a fan's glittery hat and worn it. Myungyeol moments were also there! He's really taking away Myungsoo from Seongjong. His addiction to coffee was also witnessed by some. He sneaked out, together with Seongjong, to buy Americano in Starbucks which is very near the hotel.

Myungsoo - FREAKING HANDSOME! I don't know how to describe his face. The Myungsoo you can see on stage performing in shows and videos is the same Myungsoo that I have seen in the concert. He's not very playful but he is flirty! Darn my husband! ^_^ He took one video selca from a fan's phone. He also keeps on throwing winks and flying kisses. My friend said that Myungsoo is a smiley person contrary to his cold mysterious features on-cam. He is also happy with small things that is happening around him. He is definitely aLien. The drivers were also confessing that he is EXTRAORDINARILY HANDSOME. Even gays with swooning over him. He is on his phone all the time (I guess checking out his girlfriend T_T or playing on KakaoTalk).

Seongjong - GOODNESS GODDESS! He ramps like a DIVA in the airport up to the stage. Seongjong is very manly! Only because of his excessive feminine side he tends to look like gay. But he's not. My friend is a witness of it. He is nice and greets fans all over. Definitely Diva Maknae is his crown. No one can get that away from him. He looked like a sculpture porcelain. He is also not very thin but he is growing up! He is starting to be as tall as Myungsoo.

I have got the chance to see them 5 feet apart but I can say they are really made by good genes! ^_^ Maybe next time it's my chance already. Seeing them perform by now have given me so much happiness and a memory of a lifetime!
